Join us for a special international panel discussion “Considerations for Implementing a Short-Term, Community-Based English Program Abroad” on December 4 from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM Eastern Time. Learn to: 1) Identify the key components of a successful short-term, community-based EFL program. 2) Examine the potential of international, community-based initiatives. 3) Evaluate your community-based programs in light of the case study in question. This free webinar & online networking event is sponsored by TESOL Ministry and CELEA Community-based ESL Group.
This webinar will provide an overview of a short-term, community-based EFL program (coordinated in the summer of 2023) between Briercrest College and Seminary in Canada and the Maranatha Evangelical Church in Mexico. Both partners benefited mutually from the initiative: it offered an additional field opportunity for pre-service teachers in the undergraduate TESOL degree program at Briercrest, and provided a notable service for English language learners in the host community in Mexico. The panel discussion and will feature insights from key stakeholders: the program supervisor, pre-service teachers from Briercrest College, and the local program coordinator in Mexico.
